How to Visit Rome cheaply using Cards. Plan your travel in advance and take chance of these discounts.

If you are going to visit monuments and museums of Rome can be very expensive and due to the long queues it can also be very frustrating. Here are some tips that will help you save time and money.

  • · Roma Pass.

Roma Pass is a tourist card, which includes free transportation for three days and free admission to two museums and / or archaeological sites. Once you have used the card twice, it gives you a reduced price for the tickets in other museums and sites, events and exhibitions. You can use this card in Rome for more than 40 monuments, museums and archaeological sites.

You can buy the Roma Pass card at any: Tourist Information Points in Rome, railway stations, Fiumicino airport, Travel Agencies, hotels, Atac, ticket offices, newsagents and tobacco shops.

  • · Archaeology Card. (Archeologia Card)

This is a ticket for seven days and will allow you to entry to the Colosseum, the Palatine, the Roman National Museum, the Baths of Caracalla, Villa dei Quintili and the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella on the Via Appia. You can purchase this card at any of the above mentioned shops and the cost is 23€.

  • · Appia Antica Card

This Card is also valid for seven days and includes admission (once each) at the Baths of Caracalla, Villa dei Quintili, and the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella. The cost of the card is € 7.50 and does not include transportation.

  • · Tickets to museums

Combined tickets of 4 museums include an entrance for each of the four national museums of Rome (closed on Mondays) Altemps, Palazzo Massimo, the Baths of Diocletian, Crypta. The card costs € 8.50 and is valid for three days.

  • · Transport Rome Pass.

This specific card allows unlimited travel on buses and metro in Rome and it is available for one, three, seven days or a month. The card must be validated only on first use.

Free Museums in Italy – Museums in Music or MUSEI IN MUSICA 20TH November 2010

In order to promote culture and bring more people to art and places that remain, for the first time this year, these will be the big event where Museums will be open FREE OF CHARGE just for one night .
In Rome, “MUSEUMS IN MUSIC” or “MUSEI IN MUSICA” is sponsored by Capital Rome in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and organized by Zètema Culture Project.

After the huge success of last year, this year MiBAC extended the National Event involving many other Italian cities with more than 100 musical performances in some of the most important national museums of our country.

MUSEUMS IN MUSIC events are all free.
The museums involved, moreover, will remain open to visitors free of charge until 02.00.
